Trying to find my way. Writing has always been therapeutic, however sometimes things happen in life that break you at the core. Its not a reset button you can hit or concoction that you can mix up to make you whole again. It’s a process that has no time frame as to when all will be well again. I lost my voice for a long time. I can’t go into detail because legally I could be sued. It is something I am working hard to free myself from.
I can say, I am so thankful and grateful it wasn’t anything thing tragic dealing with family. Speaking of family, my family is a group of colorful characters. Anyone that knows me, thinks I should write about them. If I told you half the stories, you’d think it was so far-fetched and unbelievable. My grandmother, Earline woo, she used to tell us when she burnt food made you pretty. Yeah, believed that one for a while. I put her on speaker phone at work one day. She gave more than an earful. Years later everyone loves an Earline story. Other stories quickly come to mind, the Volvo and the bowling alley, the funeral, the party, SMH. Nevertheless, everyone is as colorful as they were before, if not more.
I hate that this break has been so long, too long. But, as I said earlier, there isn’t a crystal ball that gave instructions or a magic button to make it all go way. It was something I had to go through to grow and elevate to a higher level. While dealing with my major issue, I had to rearrange some things in my life, make some adjustments and put things in place. Also, as I was going through this process, typical life issues growing pains of kids getting older, financial challenges and burn out delayed my comeback.
Now, I’ve grown. I have a new perspective on life, people. By the way, the seventh installment, Hate That I Love You is finished. It has been finished for a year. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to publish, I will this year. I also have another book that is 80% done, Interference and two additional books I’m working on. Finding my way back to peace of mind.
